Age and Class X conditions
The birth-date interval is 1 June 2010 to 31 July 2012, inclusive. Applicants must be studying Class X during 2026–27 in a recognised school, and be Indian nationals studying in India. Candidates who passed Class X before this session are not eligible.
Always verify final results, dates, documents and admission directions through official NVS sources.
Streams and choices
The prospectus allows a maximum of two stream options and describes Science, Commerce, Humanities and Vocational merit criteria. Allocation considers vacancies, category, merit and options; candidates should understand the available streams before selecting preferences.
District then state merit
District-wise selection first considers residence and Class X study in the concerned district. Remaining vacancies are filled from a common state merit list under the stated options. Cross-state admission is not permitted in this process.
Qualification and selection
Each subject requires 6/20. Stream merit totals three subjects out of 60, with category/gender qualifying minima. These numbers do not guarantee selection; higher vacancy-specific merit may be necessary.
