ADMISSION HELP

Navodaya Admission Guides

Practical guidance for document preparation, verification, medical requirements and common admission questions.

After Selection

Read the official selection communication first. Contact the allotted JNV using verified details and follow the stated timeline.

  • Verify result and allotted school
  • Prepare originals and copies
  • Complete document verification
  • Follow medical and admission instructions

Documents and Certificates

Requirements can vary by candidate and year. Use the official admission notice as the final checklist.

IMPORTANT

Always verify final results, dates, documents and admission directions through official NVS sources.

Common Corrections

Name, date-of-birth or certificate mismatches should be reported through the process specified by the relevant school or NVS authority.

Plan admission by class, not by a generic form

Class VI applicants need the Class VI JNVST prospectus and their residence/study details, while Class IX applicants need the lateral-entry Class VIII study and district conditions. Class XI applicants must understand Class X requirements, available streams and vacancy-based allocation. Complete only the official application for the relevant route and keep the submitted registration details for later notices.

Read current notices as well as the prospectus

The prospectus is a starting document. NVS can publish deadline extensions, correction windows, admit-card notices and later selection instructions. The Class IX official portal checked on 8 October 2026 states that its 2027–28 application deadline is extended to 15 October 2026. The original 30 September deadline remains in the prospectus, so users should distinguish the original schedule from the later live notice.

Documents and accuracy before submission

Compare the candidate’s name, birth date, school class, district, category and area status against the supporting records. If a category claim requires a valid central-list certificate or the rural claim relies on school location, follow that requirement. Corrections should use the official correction facility when available. A successful online submission does not waive later document checks.
